pay it forward

dude, lots of fun last night in the "pay it forward" thread over at SIStv. of course, now i have to get my butt in gear creating the custom stuff i offered up. hee.

today is mlk and the dd has off of school. right now, it's cartoonyland around here right now but hopefully we'll get some scrapping done today. i was up way too late last night but not doing anything productive. i watched the new "l word" (HOLY!) and a movie after goofing around online for a long time.

last night, my dd got all prettied up for dinner and set the table and here was her centerpiece:

things have been crazy around here, but it's all good.

here's 7 random things about me...

1) i find it very hard to watch live tv. i am spoiled by my DVR and can't imagine going back to life without it despite how bratty this sounds.

2) i must have a coke or coffee every single morning or i feel terrible.

3) i am obsessed with magazines despite the fact that i am trying to go more green. it is one of the things i just can't give up. all the pretty pictures!

4) i am obsessed with all things new york. if i had all the money in the world, the first place i'd go wouldn't be paris or rome or australia -- it'd be new york. i miss it so much! right now, i'm watching "cashmere mafia" and it's making me incredibly happy because it's showing off the city -- plus, it's good! are you watching? dude.

5) i can't go a day without being online for at least a few minutes. it makes me crazy. i've been online since teh internets were invented by al gore. when i got my new phone, i refrained from getting a blackberry because i was afraid i'd never put it down.

6) i have some weird kind of insomnia that comes and goes. then there are days when i feel like i could sleep for a week. it was perfectly fine until i had a kiddo who needed a schedule and now it's just annoying.

7) i'm sad christmas is over. it's my favorite time of the year. but i'm glad that i'm in my new house and can really do it up next year!

today i spent an ungodly amount of time at target. i also checked the sale at recollections...i thought i'd be all smart and score some tombo refills at 30% off but they were ALL GONE. seriously? dude. who the hay bought all those? BUH. i got some zots and a few other things i totally didn't need. the bug picked some stuff and made a project for her teacher, which is cute.

my cat just came in here and plopped down on the sofa in my scrappy room. i love that he wants to be where i am. the hubby is putting the bug to bed. it's crazy late for her to be up but it's nearly back to school time and i figured i'd let her get away with it a time or two more before she has to be all regular scheduled programming.

did you guys see sarah bowen's best me week 1 project? the little bits of listy beautiful watercolory goodness? good grief, that girl inspires me like no one's business. fah real.

okay, here is my POTD for today. did i tell you i'm doing 365 but not making them self-portraits? just photo-a-day for a year. well, now i told ya. :D i swear, i'll try and make them more interesting in the future. hee.

so today i'm listing out all the "this is me" challenges so far and holy schmoley! i have a helluva lot of catching up to do. i'm on it, though, because i want to fill this book up.

i love to create but i'm trying to put less pressure on myself to get things done. create is the primary goal and the when and how is all just stuff, ya know?

can i just say how much i'm loving these curtains in my new space? dude. lemme share:

also, i've decided that i want to start a collection and since my sis gave me a groovy new wooden owl for xmas, owls it is. so lovelies, if you spot any cool owlie finds, link me up.

well, it's 2008. so far, i've:

- cleaned my house
- hung curtains in my new scrap space!
- hung curtains in my bedroom (yay dark!)
- went to the movies
- ate brownies
- actually scrapped a few things
- started daily cards for 2008
- took a pic for 365 even though i'm not sure i'm gonna do it
- ordered some scrappy goodness online
- sniffed my hambly (ha!)
- added a couple of things to my idea book
- took down my xmas decorations

i can't wait to get better organized this year and really accomplish some things. i hope you guys had a great first day of '08!
