Back from Houston

...and good lord, is it nice to be home. I love visiting my family and friends, but it just seems we never have time to see everyone and do everything. I'm SO tired. I'll spend the next few days unpacking and getting settled back in. My little one starts school in a couple of weeks, so there's shopping to be done, too. Whee!

Hope you all are having a fab summer! I'll post pics and do a retail therapy post tmrw.

Retail Therapy Wednesdays. Sound good?

With new readers comes great responsibility. Okay, not really. BUT I do have to remember to tell a bit about myself since you guys hardly know me. I was born and raised in Houston and only moved out here to the desert a year and a half ago. I love it and have no plans of leaving anytime soon, but I most certainly get homesick now and again. Thankfully, we're headed to Texas for ten days on Friday! Whee!

I'm busy doing laundry and packing, etc. but since I told myself I'd post at least once a day, here I am. How about a little HumpDay retail therapy?

Three by Three Seattle has these super cute birdie magnet boards and when I have my own scrappy little space, I shall have one. Or maybe I'll make an attempt at a fabric covered cork board version. Hrm.



I don't know about you, but I'm a baker. I love the way the house smells when I'm baking, not to mention the way a nice lounge on the sofa with a cupcake or brownie can make you smile. I love baking brownies and I'm a total Edge Eater. The soft, cakey middle and crispy edges are my fave and those genius peeps at Baker's Edge have come up with a great pan just for people like me!

Being alive.

I've been on LiveJournal for what feels like an eternity, so it was pretty hard to make the jump over here. As much as I love my LJ friends, that place just doesn't feel like home anymore.

Over the last year or so, life has felt pretty new...so it's about time my journaling caught up. I'm going to try really hard to make this a regular thing -- even if it means just sharing things that inspire me or photos or whatever.

The first thing I want to share with you is my favorite quote:
